The future of music
begins in the forest.

We connect bow making, science and conservation to help protect the pernambuco tree (Paubrasilia echinata) and its habitat in Brazil.

Music needs
living forests.

The International Pernambuco Conservation Initiative brings the knowledge of bow makers together with the work of Brazilian partners in research, conservation and reforestation.

For almost 250 years, pernambuco has been closely connected with the sound of stringed instruments. Its future concerns music, craftsmanship and the diversity of the Atlantic Forest.
